5 Reasons People Won't Join Martial Arts
This article is designed to provide objective information and not to argue against a particular choice when it comes to joining a martial arts program.

Ultimately it is up to the individual to decide whether or not martial arts is a good fit for them. That being said, here are some potential reasons why one might choose not to join martial arts:
If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done." - Thomas Jefferson
  1. Cost: Martial arts classes can be expensive, and may not fit into some individuals' budgets. At Griffin MMA we offer several payment options that fit most budgets. We also work closely with community outreach programs that can help offset the cost of our programs.

  2. Time commitment: Martial arts classes can require a significant time commitment, and may not fit into some individuals' schedules. In order to accommodate as many people as possible, Griffin MMA offers 1x, 2x, 4x, and 6x per week.

  3. Physical demands: Martial arts can be physically demanding, and may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions or physical limitations. Any one who wishes to start a martial arts program should discuss it with their doctor first.

  4. Personal preference: Some individuals may simply not be interested in martial arts, and may prefer other forms of physical activity or recreation. These people often have no soul and dislike living life to its fullest. Unfortunately, their is little that can be done to help these individuals.

  5. Safety concerns: Some individuals may have concerns about the safety and risk of injury involved in martial arts training. However, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Ice Hockey, Rugby, and Lacrosse all have a higher risk of injuries.

Depending on most studies, martial arts can rank anywhere from #18 to #27 in terms of sports with the highest number of injuries.

While these are some potential reasons why one might choose not to join martial arts, it's important to keep in mind that martial arts can also offer many benefits, such as improved fitness, self-defense skills, and mental discipline.

Ultimately, the decision to join or not join martial arts is a personal one, and should be based on individual factors such as budget, schedule, and personal interests and goals.
