LIGHT BODY CONTACT / BASIC SUBMISSION SKILLS Basic fighting skills and practical application of techniques are an integral part of our junior program. Concepts such as patience, humility, humour and respect are all familiar to the martial artist. Students who achieve these qualities have been known to improve their fighting skills and develop positive learning habits. Traits that are useful not only now during their formative years but throughout their lives as well.
Junior Jiu Jitsu (Advanced)
Ages 7-9: Tuesday and Thursday 5:00 pm - 5:55 pm LIGHT BODY CONTACT / ADVANCED SUBMISSION SKILLS This advanced junior program is specifically designed to challenge your child’s abilities. Through physical and mental conditioning the student learns to apply a multitude of techniques in different situations. The student gains knowledge through advanced flow drills and repetition of basics. Students learn effective self-defense techniques for both personal protection and or a sport environment. Students in the Advanced Program are eligible for our Friday Night Boxing Program.
Ages 7-9: Friday 6:00 pm - 6:55 pm
Boxing is one of the oldest forms of self defence. The sport itself involves the use of your hands and footwork to evade or attack your opponent. At Red Griffin Martial Arts Studio our boxing class is included with your Jiu Jitsu membership or can be used as a stand alone program.
Our boxing class is designed for all levels from beginner to advanced.
Prerequisite: Introductory Lesson
Uniform for Boxing: Black Board Shorts (with no pockets) and rash guard or club shirt, mouthguard
